Job summary

FTI is seeking an Advanced Materials Specialist to optimize material flow and support launches across manufacturing operations. You will analyze flow processes, design line-side storage and kitting layouts, and collaborate with engineering, production, and procurement to ensure readiness from day one.

The role emphasizes inventory setup, ERP configuration, and continuous improvement through lean methodologies. Travel is ~25% with a Monday–Friday schedule in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or a related field.
• 2–4 years' experience in material flow, logistics or supply chain roles in manufacturing.
• Lean manufacturing knowledge and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and data analysis tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Material Flow Design & Launch Planning: design optimal line-side storage, kitting and footprint layouts; simulate material handling for upcoming launches; improve throughput and reduce waste; collaborate on layouts for storage and movement.
• Inventory Setup & Readiness: specify item dimensions and max bin quantities; define stocking strategies and replenishment workflows; coordinate with procurement and materials teams; set up ERP/WMS parameters and visual controls.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration & Launch Project Management: plan material requirements for new OEM launches; develop layout updates and logistics pathways; participate in launch team syncs.
• Process Improvement, Training, & Handover: identify opportunities, lead SOPs and best practices; provide training and troubleshoot with site teams; execute handover to site material flow teams; perform related duties.
