Job summary

The Aspen Institute is seeking an Associate Director, Emerging Young Leaders Program, to foundingly lead a new endowed initiative within Aspen Leadership Seminars. This three-year term appointment will design, build, pilot, and launch the program, establishing operational foundations for long-term success.

The role requires strategic thinking, operational excellence, and collaborative leadership. Based in Washington, DC with 40% in-person work, the salary range is $112,500 to $125,000 annually.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in program management, education, leadership development, nonprofit management, or related field.
  • Experience building, launching, or expanding a new program or initiative.
  • Experience leading cross-functional work with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end program lifecycle: design, pilot, launch, and scale the Emerging Young Leaders program.
  • Build workflows, systems, and implementation plans to realize program goals.
  • Oversee seminar experience design: curriculum alignment, moderator prep, onboarding, logistics.
  • Collaborate with Aspen Leadership Seminars, Center for Leadership, and Center for Rising Generations.
  • Design an evaluation framework to measure outcomes and apply pilot feedback.
  • Build alumni engagement and long-term relationships across the Institute.
