Job summary

KIPP Memphis is hiring a Director of School Operations for the startup of KCCE Cordova Collegiate Elementary. You will lead the operational foundation, recruit and train staff, coordinate facilities, procurement, and vendor relationships, and work with the Principal and regional leaders to ensure a strong launch.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four‑year college or university.
• 3–5 years of professional experience, with at least 2 years in school operations, education management, non‑profit administration, or project management.
• Demonstrated track record of successful project management, operational execution, and budget management.
• Experience managing staff, service vendors, or cross‑functional team projects.
• Preferred Master’s degree in business administration, public administration, education leadership, non‑profit management, or a related field.
• Experience in a charter school network, high‑performing urban school, or local educational organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead pre-opening planning to establish operational systems, routines, and foundation for a new school.
• Build student recruitment, family & community engagement, facility readiness, procurement, and vendor coordination.
• Oversee front office and campus operations, reporting to leadership, while supporting the instructional team.
• Manage budgets, stakeholder events, and cross‑functional projects with external vendors.
• Ensure continuous improvement and readiness for opening and ongoing operation.
