The Ellis School in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a temporary, part-time Latin instructor for Upper and Middle School from January to April 2027.

You will design engaging Latin lessons, assess student learning, and contribute to a collaborative, student‑centered community that supports girls’ education. Responsibilities include advising, proctoring, chaperoning, and joining department and school‑wide committees under the World Language Department chair.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in Latin or a related field.
• Demonstrated fluency in Latin.
• Commitment to innovative pedagogical practices and effective integration of technology in instruction.
• Strong sense of community and collaborative teamwork.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Advanced degree in Latin or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience teaching Middle and/or Upper School students.
• Enthusiasm for and commitment to all-girls education.
• Demonstrated ability and enthusiasm for working with adolescents.

• Teach Upper and Middle School Latin courses.
• Design and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans.
