This permanent, direct-hire role supports a high-performing charter network with a classical curriculum centered on art, music, Latin, debate and character education. You will teach Latin and Debate across multiple grades, deliver standards-aligned lessons, work with instructional coaches, analyze data to close gaps, foster respectful classroom culture, and partner with families to

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or graduate degree in History, Classics, Education or a related field, OR at least 3 years of teaching experience.
• Experience teaching, reading and speaking Latin (required).
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Teaching certification preferred.
• Experience at a high-performing charter school preferred.
• Excellent work ethic and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach Latin and Debate across several grade levels.
• Deliver standards-aligned lessons from a rigorous, established classical curriculum.
• Refine lessons for clarity, rigor and relevance with support from instructional coaches.
• Drive gap-closing gains so students reach mastery of New York State Standards.
• Collect and analyze academic and behavior data to identify student needs.
• Work with colleagues and coaches on data-driven instructional improvements.
• Run a structured classroom built on respect, responsibility and citizenship.
• Build warm, positive relationships with students and partner with families to share progress.
