Job summary

OMW Corporation is seeking Setup Level Machinists for a weekend shift operating 3-axis CNC lathes to produce precision aerospace components. You will set up, run and troubleshoot lathes with Fanuc controls, read prints, and verify dimensions using GD&T techniques.

Some milling may be required on 3-, 4-, or 5-axis machines to support production. Applicants should have at least 3 years of CNC lathe experience, familiarity with Hwacheon/DMG Mori lathes, and solid knowledge of CAM tools like

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working on CNC Lathes.
  • Setup experience with Hwacheon and DMG Mori Lathes with Fanuc Controls a plus.
  • Familiarity/Experience with SolidWorks, HSMWorks, and Esprit CAM a plus.
  • Multi-axis Lathe with Live Tooling Experience preferred.
  • Maintain product quality through monitoring and adjusting CNC offsets as needed.
  • G and M codes knowledge for setting and adjusting offsets and CNC programs.
  • Ability to read prints and apply dimensional specifications to inspection processes.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T principles.
  • Experience with Aircraft grade Aluminum, Titanium, Stainless Steel, Some High Temperature Alloys, and Plastics.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate 3-axis CNC lathes to produce aerospace parts with minimal supervision.
  • Diagnose tool cutter issues and adjust tooling as required for production.
  • Assist with occasional 3-, 4-, or 5-axis milling when needed.
  • Read prints and apply tolerances using GD&T for inspection and quality.
  • Maintain quality by monitoring CNC offsets and tool wear during shifts.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet customer schedules on weekends.

Description of Role and Responsibilities

We are seeking support in our weekend shift, which follows a 3-12-hour schedule. We are looking for Setup Level Machinists who will be responsible for setting up and operating 3-axis CNC Lathes with minimal assistance to produce complex machined aerospace parts. Operator level machinists must have relevant lathe experience and be competent in diagnosing tool cutter issues related to production manufacturing. You may be required to help operate standard 3, 4, or 5-axis mills when needed.

Hard Skills
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working on CNC Lathes
  • Setup experience with Hwacheon and DMG Mori Lathes with Fanuc Controls a plus
  • Familiarity/Experience with Solidworks, HSMWorks, and Esprit Cam a plus

  • Strong ability to visually inspect parts, able to troubleshoot tool degradation and breakage easily using visual techniques
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Ability to research, comprehend and retain job related information and instructions
Soft Skills
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible within job disciplines
  • Demonstrate good communication with your trainer and co-workers and use time wisely
  • Work overtime as required to meet customer schedule
  • Maintain quality standards focusing on process improvements to reduce scrap
  • Good communication skills to communicate professionally with shop personnel and management
  • Position requires the ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Education and Experience
  • High School or equivalent
  • Good English communication skills
  • 3 years of related experience
