Job summary

Granite State Manufacturing in Manchester, NH, is seeking a Lathe Cell Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of the CNC lathe cell, ensuring production, quality, and safety standards are met.

You will schedule, train, and coach machinists, optimize throughput, monitor setup and maintenance, and partner with programming and planning teams to keep the shop running smoothly and in compliance with AS9100/ISO 9001.

Qualifications

• 5+ years CNC machining experience, including setup and operation of CNC lathes.
• Prior supervisory or team-lead experience in a machining environment.
• Strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling, G-code, and blueprint reading.
• Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, and defense/aerospace quality standards.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., M1) and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to coach and mentor machinists across skill levels.
• U.S. Person qualification for export-controlled information per ITAR.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise lathe cell team members across skill levels.
• Assign daily work, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to instructions.
• Conduct performance reviews and disciplinary actions per GSM policy.
• Provide mentorship and cross-training to develop skills.
• Reduce barriers to improve cost and scheduling performance.
• Oversee CNC lathe operations to meet production schedules.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100/ISO9001 and NAVSEA requirements.
• Promote Lean practices to reduce waste and increase throughput.
• Maintain OSHA and GSM safety standards and effective communication.
