Location:

Duties:

  1. Manage and litigate a portfolio of workers' compensation defense cases
  2. Develop case-specific strategies, budgets, and recommendations
  3. Attend depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials as necessary
  4. Draft and review discovery responses, pleadings, and litigation reports
  5. Negotiate settlements and prepare clients for trial proceedings
  6. Supervise and collaborate with paralegals and legal assistants
  7. Maintain ongoing communication with clients and internal teams
  8. Engage in business development activities to grow client base

Requirements:

  • 5–7 years of workers' compensation defense experience
  • Established portable book of business preferred
  • Ability to independently manage a litigation caseload
  • Proficiency with case management systems and Microsoft Office
  • Strong ability to handle multiple matters efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in Virginia and Washington, D.C. (required)
  • Maryland Bar admission preferred
