Job summary

City of Folsom Police Department is recruiting for a Police Officer (Lateral). The position performs sworn law enforcement duties, crime prevention, and administrative tasks in support of police services.

Base salary ranges from $95,492.29 to $120,966.78 per year, with a 6% holiday pay differential and potential education pay increases up to 12.5%. Offers comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, CalPERS retirement, and generous paid leaves.

Qualifications

• Must possess California POST Basic Certificate.
• Current sworn officer eligible for lateral transfer.
• Must successfully complete required training including firearm qualification.

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned area on rotating shifts by vehicle or on foot to prevent crime and enforce laws.
• Investigate crimes; interview victims, witnesses, and suspects; collect and preserve evidence.
• Respond to emergencies and manage crowd control during incidents and events.
• Arrest suspects and transport prisoners as needed; ensure public safety and order.
• Prepare written reports and operate department computer systems; participate in community outreach.
