Job summary

The City of Santa Ana is seeking experienced police professionals for the Police Officer-Lateral Transfers. Officers will undertake full policing duties after orientation and work within a community-oriented policing framework to protect residents' quality of life.

Ideal candidates hold a California POST certificate and have recent sworn law enforcement experience in California, with flexibility for varying shifts including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Proficient in writing reports and handling paperwork.
• Ability to make sound decisions based on fact, quickly and repeatedly.
• Commitment to Community Oriented Policing principles.

Responsibilities

• Possession of a California P.O.S.T. Basic certificate or higher (if you do not have one, you do not qualify for the Lateral Transfer position).
• Successful completion of probationary period, and/or been employed on a permanent basis within the past 2.5 years as a sworn officer in California.
