Job summary

The Everett Police Department seeks qualified lateral police officers to join a community-oriented department serving over 110,000 residents. Officers patrol by foot, bike, motorcycle or car and uphold integrity, professionalism and honor while reducing crime.

This Civil Service position requires extensive background checks and fitness standards. The department offers comprehensive benefits and a LEOFF 2 pension to support long-term service.

Qualifications

• Requires high school graduation or equivalent.
• Successful completion of Washington State Police Basic Law Enforcement Academy and eighteen months of full-time paid service as a commissioned officer, or twenty-four months as a sworn officer in a civilian jurisdiction with patrol experience.

Responsibilities

• Patrol designated areas of the City by foot, bike, motorcycle, or automobile to enforce laws and protect life and property.
• Engage with the community as part of a community-oriented policing approach to reduce crime and improve quality of life.
• Assist in federal and state investigations as required and participate in specialized units (e.g., Marine Unit, K-9, School Resource Officer).
