Job summary

Gilbert Police Department seeks a highly motivated Lateral Police Officer to join Team Gilbert. The officer conducts general and specialized law enforcement duties, patrols to deter crime, responds to calls for service, and assists in investigations under the supervision of a Police Sergeant.

Ideal candidates meet Arizona lateral requirements (AZPOST certification or academy completion within the last three years) with 2080 hours for out-of-state lateral applicants.

Qualifications

• Must be Arizona State-Certified Police Officer or AZPOST academy graduate within the last three years.
• Out-of-State Lateral Officer must have 2080 hours sworn after academy, waiver possible for Arizona POST.
• Role requires 24/7 shift availability, including nights, weekends or holidays.

Responsibilities

• Patrol streets and neighborhoods to deter crime and apprehend violators or suspects.
• Respond to calls for law enforcement assistance and gather information for investigations.
• Perform general and specialized law enforcement work to protect lives and property.
