Job summary

Douglas County Sheriff's Office - Oregon is seeking a lateral transfer officer certified by Oregon DPSST. The position requires you to enforce laws, issue court documents, and operate emergency vehicles while providing a full range of services to county residents.

The role is full-time (40 hours/week) with a strong benefits package and a guaranteed probation period. Applicants must have at least two consecutive years of service with their current agency and pass a comprehensive background

Qualifications

  • Must possess a current Oregon DPSST law enforcement certification and currently be employed as a law enforcement officer.
  • A minimum of two (2) consecutive years of full-time employment with the agency they are currently employed by.
  • Applicants will be processed based on date of application received and must pass a thorough background investigation.

Responsibilities

  • Enforce state and county laws and provide a full range of law enforcement and related social services.
  • Operate emergency response vehicles and other equipment as required.
  • Write reports and handle court documents; conduct investigations and arrests as needed.
  • Attend to pursuits and training; work across shifts with regular attendance.
