Job summary

The City of South Jordan is hiring full-time Lateral Firefighter Paramedics to join the Fire Department. This role delivers emergency medical services, firefighting, and rescue support across a wide range of incidents, requiring a strong commitment to public service, safety, and teamwork.

Candidates must have at least one year of verifiable, full-time firefighting experience as Firefighter Paramedic/EMT and hold Utah paramedic license and related certifications.

Qualifications

• One year of verifiable, full-time firefighting experience.
• Utah Paramedic license and related certifications (ACLS/PALS/BLS).
• CPR for healthcare providers required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to fire, rescue, medical, and hazardous materials emergencies.
• Provide advanced and basic life support; assess, treat, and transport patients.
• Perform fire suppression activities including search and rescue, ventilation, and overhaul.
• Operate and maintain firefighting and EMS equipment.
• Conduct life safety inspections, hydrant testing, and pre-incident planning.
• Deliver public education programs on safety and emergency preparedness.
• Participate in ongoing training, station maintenance, and equipment readiness.
• Complete reports, documentation, and administrative tasks.
