Job summary

The City of South Jordan is hiring a Lateral Firefighter Advanced EMT to join the department. This full-time role responds to emergencies, provides advanced life support, firefighting, and rescue services, and requires at least one year of verifiable full-time firefighting experience.

Qualifications

• Required: High school diploma or GED.
• Utah EMT-Basic certification required.
• Utah Advanced EMT certification or ability to obtain within one year of hire.
• Utah Firefighter II certification or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Respond to fire, medical, rescue, hazmat and other emergencies.
• Provide advanced and basic life support and transport patients.
• Perform fire suppression tasks including forcible entry, ventilation, salvage, and overhaul.
• Operate and maintain fire apparatus, tools, and equipment.
• Conduct building inspections and hydrant testing.
