Job summary

Jefferson County Sheriff's Office in Colorado seeks a POST-lateral deputy with two years of patrol experience to enforce laws, respond to incidents, prepare reports and testify in court. Responsibilities include high-visibility patrols, traffic enforcement, and collaboration with investigators and other agencies.

A $5,000 sign-on bonus is offered after training completion. Requirements include CO POST cert status, valid Colorado driver's license, and completion of initial field training.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as a full-time law enforcement officer (equivalent to a peace officer under CRS 16-2.5-102, 105, 106, 107, 108) on patrol.
• Patrol experience includes responding to calls, traffic enforcement, citizen contact, evidence collection and testifying in court.

Responsibilities

• Answers complaint calls and investigates felonies, misdemeanors and petty offenses.
• Patrols assigned areas to enforce laws and maintain order in the County.
• Prepares reports and submits daily activity logs.
• Operates two-way radio and MDC to communicate and coordinate.
• Enforces traffic laws and manages traffic control at incidents.
• Assists in court appearances as needed.
• May provide field training and supervise recruits.
