Job summary

AIT is seeking a Tool and Laser Install Technician in Plano, TX, to operate laser tracker equipment and drive day-to-day tool-building projects meeting quality standards and customer specifications. Role requires deep experience with laser trackers and model-based metrology, plus data analysis and reporting capabilities.

Expect responsibilities across inspection, setup, fabrication of tooling components, and integration with optical systems.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or technical accreditation required.
• Minimum of three years with laser trackers and data analysis.
• Seven years with laser trackers in lieu of education.
• U.S. citizenship for government clearance is required.
• Strong GD&T and blueprints interpretation required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, and verify accuracy of assembled articles per standards.
• Determine fabrication and assembly methods; perform final setup and assembly of components.
• Operate laser trackers and optical equipment; apply model-based metrology.
• Fabricate and prove optical/mechanical accessories for instrumentation.
• Construct jigs, fixtures, and master tooling gauges.
• Conduct in-process and final inspections per customer requirements.
