Job summary

Gateway Laser Services in Maryland Heights, MO, seeks a Laser Technician to support production activities, operate laser systems, and assist with in-process inspection and packaging. The role reports to the Technical Director and works with Production Managers and Engineers to deliver high-quality parts for diverse industries.

• Collaborate with Engineering and Technicians to streamline processes.
• Optional: setup operation for various jobs and adjust laser parameters.
• Optional: maintain and repair laser systems and equipment.

Position Summary

Laser Technicians play an integral role supporting production activities including laser processing, in-process inspection, cleaning, and packaging. This role is the primary operator of several laser systems tailored for specific jobs. Laser Technicians work closely with our Technical Director, Production Managers, and Engineers to help deliver high-quality parts to customers. More experienced Laser Technicians help with setting up jobs along, with the maintenance of numerous laser systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage lifecycle of production activities including laser processing, in-process inspection, cleaning, and packaging
• Ensure accurate recordkeeping of production activities through ERP system including inspection data, parts produced, time, etc.
• Collaborate with Engineering and other Technicians to streamline processes and improve efficiency
• Optional: Conduct setup operation for various jobs and modify laser parameters as needed
• Optional: Maintain and repair numerous laser systems along with other in-house manufacturing equipment

Required Qualifications

• Associate's degree or bachelor's degree in relevant field
• 3+ years of experience in precision manufacturing or similar manufacturing
• Working knowledge of tooling and fixturing
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)

• Ability to read and extract critical information from engineering drawings
• Experience with ERP systems
• Experience in medical device manufacturing
• Familiarity with laser processing technology
