Job summary

Montana Tank Works is seeking a skilled laser operator to join our team in Billings, MT. You will operate the laser table, nest parts on metal sheets, and route finished pieces to subsequent operations while adhering to safety and quality standards.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of laser experience, is comfortable with overhead crane and forklift operations, and can read blueprints. We support employee ownership and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of overhead crane and forklift operation.
• Ability to read blueprints and tape measures.
• 1–2 years laser operating experience preferred.
• Must be a self-starter who is detail oriented and can work with minimal supervision.
• Experience using Sigmanest software is a plus.
• Experience checking for and recognizing defectively cut parts preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate the laser table to cut parts.
• Use an overhead crane as part of material handling.
• Read blueprints to match the cut file to the blueprint.
• Plan nesting of parts on a sheet of metal for efficient fabrication.
• Perform re-work as required.
• Maintain and order stock to ensure correct levels.
• Unload parts from table and route to next operation.
• Follow safety and quality procedures.
