Job summary

Metalcraft of Mayville, Inc. is seeking a Laser Operator to join our manufacturing team. The role involves setting up and running Amada and Mitsubishi NC/NCL laser systems and Messer Plasma equipment in a fast-paced fabrication environment.

You will verify materials, load and unload parts, inspect outputs, and adjust processes to maintain quality and production goals. Strong reading of blueprints and safe, efficient operation are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Experience reading blueprints and production specifications.
• Experience with laser cutting or CNC machinery preferred.
• Ability to safely operate forklifts and cranes is preferred.
• Strong mechanical/technical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Amada and Mitsubishi NC/NCL laser cutting equipment and Messer Plasma equipment.
• Verify material type and thickness before loading and processing.
• Load raw materials and unload completed parts using material-handling equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints and production specifications.
• Monitor operations and adjust to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Identify and troubleshoot basic machine, program, and alignment issues.
• Record production time and completed work in the data system.
• Perform operator-level preventive maintenance and report deficiencies.
• Cross-train on multiple laser and plasma platforms and assist training.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized work environment and follow safety procedures.
