Qualifications

• Must be a United States Citizen.
• High School Diploma or equivalent with 6+ years of relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 2+ years of related experience.
• 3+ years experience working with Optics in a manufacturing environment.
• 4+ years experience working with military grade lasers in a production environment.
• 4+ years experience conducting testing, integration and diagnostics on optics/lasers.
• 4+ years experience in electrical / mechanical assembly.
• Able to work weekends and evenings as required to meet company objectives.

Responsibilities

• Reads work orders, follows production drawings, or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
• Positions and aligns parts in specified relationship to each other in jig, fixture, or other holding device.
• Capable of assembling, alignment and testing of laser components, lasers and laser systems assemblies while under limited supervision.
• Able to perform optical bonding, cleaning and inspection of laser units.
• Performs optical inspections using inferometric equipment.
• Records, analyzes, and interprets test data.
• Coordinates with Engineering, Quality and Manufacturing to ensure a low-cost producible design and support the transition from Development to full rate production.
• Records, analyzes and interprets test data, makes recommendations for improvements in yield.
• Able to mentor and train junior level technicians.
• Assists in setting up and verifying optical, electronic and environmental test equipment.
• Assembles and tests optical, mechanical and electrical subassemblies.
• Assembles mechanical parts and cooling systems.
• All other duties as assigned.
