Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain laser safety programs and training for staff.
• Ensure compliance with Federal and State laser safety regulations and classify and register lasers.
• Serve as Certified Laser Safety Officer for the university community.
• Conduct laser hazard evaluations, inspections, and incident investigations; update safety protocols.
• Maintain laser inventory, disposal/decommissioning, and incident records; stay current with safety standards.
