Job summary

EFCO Forming & Shoring Solutions is seeking a CNC Operator to fabricate steel parts in Des Moines, IA. You will load material, program and run laser/plasma cutting systems, inspect output, and move materials safely through the production area.

The role requires reading blueprints and using precision measuring tools, with strict adherence to safety and quality standards. This is a full-time, on-site position at our Des Moines facility.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Experience operating CNC cutting systems (laser/plasma).
• Other Requirements: Ability to read and interpret blueprints; familiarity with measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, and tape measures; must pass EFCO's internal test.

Responsibilities

• Load and Prepare Material: Select and position the correct steel on the machine's cutting bed using material handling equipment.
• Operate CNC Cutting Equipment: Use the machine controller to retrieve and run the appropriate cutting program; adjust torch settings as needed.
• Remove and Identify Cut Parts: Sort finished pieces, confirm part identification, and clean components; return scrap material for reuse.
• Program and Adjust Machine Functions: Make on-the-fly programming changes or full setups for new runs; monitor performance and adjust parameters.
• Perform Quality and Maintenance Tasks: Inspect parts, perform quality audits, and maintain production records; complete routine maintenance.
• Maintain a Clean and Safe Work Area: Follow safety procedures, participate in training, keep workspace clean.
