Job summary

Modineer Company is seeking a Laser Operator in Elkhart, IN to manage setup, operation, and quality checks on the laser cutting line. The role requires following work instructions, maintaining safety standards, and assisting in training within the department.

The position is full-time, non-exempt, with a Friday–Sunday schedule from 4am to 4pm, in a fabrication/metal shop environment. Lifting up to 40 lbs and PPE usage are expected as part of daily duties.

Qualifications

• Must be able to use small hand-held tools, grinders, sanders.
• Must accurately complete production system documentation (production and inspection reports).
• Forklift experience is a plus.
• Reading calipers, digital micrometers and indicators is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Set up of equipment, perform production work, train personnel within the department as instructed.
• Make suggestions to help resolve problems.
• Ensure quality, quantity and safety standards are met and/or exceeded.
• Perform quality checks per requirements;
• Package parts;
• Perform material handling functions;
• Read and understand work instructions;
• Wear appropriate PPE;
• Handle/lift/push/pull up to 40 lbs on a repetitive basis;
• Use small hand-held tools to make minor adjustments to parts;
• Read measurement devices;
• Perform other duties as needed.
