Job summary

Barnes Aerospace, West Chester Division, is seeking a Laser Operator for the 3rd shift to support manufacturing operations. You will set up and run a CNC laser and related machines, read drawings, select tooling, and maintain quality and safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

The position reports to the Production Supervisor and requires attention to detail, ability to troubleshoot, and teamwork across operations. High school diploma or GED is required; aerospace background is preferred.

Qualifications

• Background in Aerospace Industry preferred.
• Sets up and programs machinery to cut sheet material and create fixtures per customer specifications.
• Analyzes drawings and specifications and determines tooling to meet tolerances; collaborates with toolmakers, engineers, and quality.
• Inspect tools with calipers, mics, overlays and pin gauges to ensure they are in tolerance.
• Daily maintenance and clean up of machines and align machines when issues arise.
• Learns and adheres to required safety and housekeeping standards and practices.

• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to plan and perform difficult work processes.
• Interact and communicate in a professional and effective manner with all levels employees.
• Schedule and organize time and tasks effectively.
• Ability to work in a challenging and schedule driven environment.
• Learns and adheres to required safety and housekeeping standards and practices.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Prefer background in Aerospace Industry.
• Sets up and programs machinery to cut sheet material and create fixtures per customer specifications.
• Analyzes drawings and specifications and determines tooling by applying knowledge and experience of metal properties, machining and processes. Work with toolmakers, engineers, and quality to give feedback and resolve problems regarding tolerances are not meeting customer specifications.
• Inspect tools using calipers, mics, overlays and pin gauges to determine whether in tolerance of customer specifications.
• Daily maintenance and clean up of machines and align machines when/if issues arise.
• Learns and adheres to required safety and housekeeping standards and practices.
