Barnes Aerospace, West Chester Division is seeking a Laser Operator on 3rd shift to support manufacturing operations. You will set up and operate CNC laser and related machines, inspect parts, and uphold safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate is self-driven, detail oriented, and able to work under deadline pressures in a fast-paced environment. High school diploma or GED required; aerospace experience is a plus.

Description
Barnes Aerospace, West Chester Division has an exciting career opportunity for a Laser Operator 3rd Shift to play an integral role in manufacturing operations. The right candidates should be self-driven with a safety and quality mind-set. If you are a high-energy individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, this position may be of special interest to you. This position reports to the Production Supervisor.
Hours: 6A-6P Friday-Sunday
Core Responsibilities:
  • Set-Up and operation on CNC Laser and other production machines ie. Lathes and mills.
  • Understanding and ability to problem solve any issues that may occur with machinery and/or material.
  • Working with a variety of measuring, inspection devices, hand tools and the ability to identify different types and thickness of materials.
  • Ability to utilize various inspection tools, Calipers, Mics, Overlays and Pin Gauges.
  • Ability to pay exceptional attention to detail and have the capacity to handle multiple tasks effectively under deadline pressures while following direction and completing assignments accurately and on time.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to plan and perform difficult work processes.
  • Interact and communicate in a professional and effective manner with all levels employees.
  • Schedule and organize time and tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work in a challenging and schedule driven environment.
  • Learns and adheres to required safety and housekeeping standards and practices
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Prefer background in Aerospace Industry.
  • Se ts up and programs machinery to cut sheet material and create fixtures per customer specifications.
  • Analyzes drawings and specifications and determines tooling by applying knowledge and experience of metal properties, machining and processes. Work with toolmakers, engineers, and quality to give feedback and resolve problems regarding tolerances are not meeting customer specifications.
  • Inspect tools using calipers, mics, overlays and pin gauges to determine whether in tolerance of customer specifications.
  • Daily maintenance and clean up of machines and align machines when/if issues arise.
  • Learns and adheres to required safety and housekeeping standards and practices.
