Job summary

Dowding Industries, Inc. is seeking a skilled laser operator to cut parts from raw steel. You will follow blueprints, measure parts with calipers and micrometers, and stack output on skids.

The role requires prior experience leading a production team, strong attention to quality, and adherence to safety guidelines. You will operate the laser, crane, and inspection tools to ensure parts meet prints and company standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience leading production teams preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and inspect parts.
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
• Experience with precision measurement tools.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all safety guidelines and requirements.
• Perform laser startup and PMs of machine.
• Operate overhead crane.
• Check first and last pieces for quality. Ensure parts are free from blemishes.
• Use pin gauges, calipers, mics, fabervision, and CMM to validate parts to prints.
• Make adjustments such as laser offsets and alignment.
• Stock parts in a safe and orderly manner.
• Clean machine during and before end of shift.
• Make sure all tools are returned to shadow board.
• Other duties as assigned.
