Job summary

JR Metal Works LLC in Wisconsin is seeking a Nights Shift I Laser Operator to safely operate and monitor laser production equipment, manufacturing high-quality metal components in line with customer specs and schedules.

You will work 5 PM to 5 AM, Sunday through Tuesday, with overtime available and a $1.50 per hour night differential; prior experience with manufacturing equipment and the ability to read blueprints are preferred.

Position Summary

The Nights Shift I Laser Operator is responsible for safely operating and monitoring laser production equipment to manufacture high-quality metal components in alignment with customer specifications and production schedules. This role supports night-shift production goals by maintaining workflow continuity during night shift hours, ensuring efficiency, quality, and adherence to company standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and operate laser machines to process/ produce high-quality parts from a wide variety of materials.
  • Understand and follow blueprints, fabrication drawings, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished products, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
  • Modify machine speed, tooling and cutting style to ensure precision and accuracy of manufactured parts.
  • Check production for accuracy and uniformity to ensure product quality and uphold company reputations.
  • Prepare proper documentation of inspections, materials, processes, and other pertinent information throughout the job cycle.
  • Periodically test operations of machinery for any issues and fix minor issues.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in a clean and orderly manner and report all equipment problems.
  • Learn the JRMW processes involved with the completion of assigned parts.

Night Shift I Information

Schedule: for regular full-time employees working the first night shift (Night Shift I), core workday/ hours are from 5 PM to 5 AM Sunday through Tuesday evenings. Overtime is available but not mandatory. Training may occur during the day shift. Day shift hours are 5 AM to 3 PM on Monday through Thursday.

Night Shift Offerings

Shift differential pay hours: for regular full-time employees working night shift, four (4) additional hours per week, at the employee’s standard hourly rate, will be allotted to the employees’ paycheck if the employee has physically worked 36 or more that week (WORK 36 HOURS, PAID FOR 40).

Additionally, employees who regularly work either night shift receive shift differential pay of $1.50 per hour for night shift hours.
