Job summary

B & G Industries Inc is seeking a laser machine operator (metal fabrication) to manufacture metal products using lasers and computerized equipment. This role involves daily setup and operation of the laser cutting machine, plus assisting other operators with duties such as housekeeping, maintenance, and material staging.

Qualifications

• Experience operating laser and cutting machines.
• Ability to inspect laser-cut parts with precision equipment.
• Ability to read drawings.
• Familiarity with sheet metal flat patterns preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily startup and shutdown procedures of equipment.
• Stage raw materials for the day’s production.
• Load and unload machines.
• Ensure production schedule follow through as allocated by scheduling.
• Perform minor maintenance and cleaning of cutting equipment.
• Perform all other duties as required.
• Keeps laser beds clean, so there is no minimal build-up of slag on slots of table.
• Keeps conveyor label clean for smooth operation.
