AAI/Spalding in Jefferson, Iowa, is seeking a Laser Operator to operate a Class 4 Fiber Tube Laser, fabricating per drawings and instructions to meet production needs. This full-time role offers excellent benefits and a pay rate of $21.68 - $23.68/hour.

Responsibilities include processing cut work orders, loading materials, adjusting tooling, and maintaining safe, efficient operations while communicating defects to engineering and maintenance teams.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and production work instructions.
• Proficient in basic math for unit conversions and tolerances.
• Must be able to speak, read, and understand English fluently.

Responsibilities

• Process cut work orders on tube laser to meet demand.
• Read and interpret work orders, prints, bills of material and routings.
• Set up nested files to save material and minimize waste.
• Change tooling (nozzles, ceramics, lenses).
• Load / unload materials; monitor machine operations.
• Inspect materials and finished products for defects and communicate issues.
