Job summary

Metalcraft Of Mayville is seeking a Laser Operator to run Bystronic and Mitsubishi CO2 lasers, de-nest parts, and perform finishing tasks in a just-in-time fabrication environment. The role requires strong laser/CNC background, precision measurement, and teamwork on 1st and 2nd shifts.

Responsibilities include setups, quality checks, training others, and troubleshooting program issues while maintaining safety and productivity in a fast-paced shop.

Qualifications

• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong Laser or CNC operating background required.
• Competent at basic dimensional measurement and able to quickly learn precision tools.
• Demonstrated competency in basic shop math.
• Able to understand/apply G and M codes and use computer skills.
• Demonstrated blueprint reading ability and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Ability to operate a forklift.
• Able to work in a team and coordinate with other departments.
• Demonstrates attention to detail, self-motivation and multi-tasking.
• HS diploma or GED equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate Bystronic and Mitsubishi CO2 Lasers and de-nest parts.
• Check material thickness and load into laser stocker.
• De-nest and remove laser oxide from parts.
• Meet time and quality standards; may train others.
• Identify and solve machine alignment and cut condition problems.
• Troubleshoot basic program errors; apply G/M code knowledge.
• Cross-train across laser platforms and cells.
• Record time and work completed in data system.
• Safely operate a forklift to handle materials and complete work.
• Adhere to safety standards and report issues promptly.
