Job summary

Life Fitness / Hammer Strength seeks an experienced Laser Operator to perform setup, operate laser equipment, and ensure safety, quality, and productivity on the shop floor in Ramsey, MN.

Responsibilities include loading and unloading steel, inspecting parts, and maintaining equipment with daily PM logs. Overtime is available; competitive hourly wage with a shift differential and a broad benefits package for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing environment in metal fabrication and/or Laser operation.
• Mechanical aptitude
• Basic math skills using a calculator
• Read tape measure, blueprints and process sheets in standard and metric
• Able to communicate effectively in English (speaking, reading, writing)
• Computer skills to operate the laser computer

Responsibilities

• Load raw steel to laser and unload finished product from laser.
• Perform visual inspection of raw steel and finished jobs.
• Advise lead/supervisor of shortages or poor quality materials/products.
• Accurately count all pieces to ensure no extra or missing parts.
• Tag completed jobs with date, quantity, and producer's name.
• Report supply needs and equipment breakdowns to lead/supervisor.
• Maintain equipment in department per guidelines and complete daily PM log.
• Complete required paperwork in a timely manner.
• Operate hoist and manual pallet jack.
• Assist in steel room operations
• Perform other duties as assigned

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Lift up to 30 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally


• Walk, stand, reach overhead, climb stairs and grasp tools as necessary


• Submit to a comprehensive vision exam


• Operate hoist and manual pallet jack

Your base wage will be between $23.00 - $27.88 per hour and includes eligibility for overtime. The actual wage offer will be based on qualifications, experience, location, and other relevant factors. You\'ll have the opportunity to participate in the Production Bonus Plan, which provides opportunities to earn additional compensation based on performance metrics. Bonus eligibility is subject to meeting certain production goals and other criteria as outlined.This position is eligible for a $2.00 per hour shift differential for hours worked on 2nd shift, in addition to the base hourly wage.
