Overview

Reporting to the Laser Supervisor, this role is primarily responsible for operating lasers, de-nesting parts, and performing metal finishing. The role also involves organizing laser-cut parts in a just-in-time fabrication environment and assisting other operators as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform setups and operations on Bystronic and Mitsubishi CO2 Lasers.
• Check material thickness, load materials, de-nest, and remove laser oxide from parts.
• Ensure work is completed to time standards and quality expectations.
• Train others on laser setup and operation as needed.
• Identify and resolve machine alignment and cut condition issues.
• Troubleshoot minor program errors independently.
• Understand and apply G and M code basics.
• Cross-train across multiple laser platforms and cells.
• Document work and time using the online data collection system.
• Operate forklift safely for material handling.
• Make routine decisions and solve basic manufacturing issues.
• Report and document material, production, and quality issues.
• Maintain equipment logs and report deficiencies.
• Participate in preventative maintenance at the operator level.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
