Job summary

Van-Am Tool & Engineering in St. Joseph, MO is hiring an experienced Laser Operator to join our aerospace-grade manufacturing team.

You will set up and operate CNC laser cutting equipment to produce precision metal parts, reading blueprints and specifications to guide production. The ideal candidate has experience with laser cutting, is proficient with measuring instruments, and can troubleshoot equipment to minimize downtime while maintaining quality and safety on a fast-paced shop floor.

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC laser cutting equipment is required.
• Experience in sheet metal fabrication or precision metal manufacturing.
• Ability to read blueprints and use measuring instruments.
• Understanding of machine setup, material types, and cutting parameters.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently, stay organized, and meet production expectations.
• Dependable attendance and a commitment to workplace safety.
• Experience operating Trumpf, Bystronic, Amada or similar equipment is a plus.
