Job summary

Altec's Duluth location is seeking an engaged operator to fabricate parts supporting production. You will run laser, plasma, press brake, saw, and manual cutting tools, ensuring dimensions meet specifications and parts pass inspection.

Responsibilities include monitoring machine settings, performing rework, documenting time, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining a safe, clean work area and upholding Altec values.

Qualifications

• Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend.
• Basic computer usage knowledge.
• Know how to use measuring equipment and general hand tools.
• Able to perform moderate math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Operate cutting machines, laser/plasma, press machines, saw, and manual cutting tools.
• Control and adjust machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion.
• Read drawings and understand basic dimensions.
• Perform rework and repair tasks.
• Perform inspection of machined parts.
• Use measuring equipment to verify conformance to specifications.
• Load and unload components and tooling.
• Maintain daily time records.
• Support APS (Altec Production System) initiatives; participate in continuous improvement events.
• Move to other work areas to support production needs (cross-train).
• Effectively assist and train new/current associates.
• Follow safety, environmental and quality policies, procedures, and PPE usage.
• Maintain work area and shop tools/equipment.
• Show commitment to Altec core values.
