Job summary

Altec in Duluth is seeking a skilled welder to fabricate, fit, and cut according to blueprint standards. You will perform GMAW/FCAW welds using a range of arc and gas welding equipment, and finish surfaces with hand and power tools. Read schematics, document time and production data, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities include cross-training in other areas and maintaining a safe, organized work environment in alignment with Altec’s core values.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend.
• Basic computer usage knowledge.
• Ability to read tape measures, blueprints, and schematics.
• Welding certification or 2+ years of welding experience; degree in process may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, fit, and cut to meet blueprint standards.
• Perform GMAW and/or FCAW welding with arc and gas welding equipment.
• Grind, deburr, and finish surfaces with hand and power tools.
• Read and interpret schematics and work orders.
• Maintain daily time records and required documentation.
• Support continuous improvement and cross-train in other areas.
