Central Plains Steel is seeking a Laser Operator for the 1st shift (6:30am–3:00pm) at Plant 2 in Wichita, KS. You will cut parts from sheet metal using laser machines and coordinate with programming and breakdown teams to meet safety, quality, productivity, and delivery goals.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Must meet Level 4 (Heavy Work) capability.
• 0-5 years of experience or equivalent.
• Adequate manual dexterity and coordination.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions.
• Basic measurement and math skills.
• Ability to multitask and manage time.
• Decision-making based on experience and data.
• Successfully lift up to 100 pounds.
• Stand for long periods and operate safely.

Responsibilities

• Review blueprints and work orders.
• Set up laser cutting unit with correct speeds/feeds.
• Position pieces and operate laser machines.
• Perform quality inspections during processing.
• Move materials using forklift/crane as needed.
• Maintain safety and quality standards.
• Complete work order documentation.
