Job summary

Metalcraft Of Mayville, Inc. is seeking a Laser Operator on 1st and 2nd shifts to operate Bystronic and Mitsubishi CO2 lasers, de-nest parts, and manage laser-cut materials in a just-in-time fabrication shop.

The ideal candidate will train others, solve basic machine issues, and ensure safety and quality in all tasks. The role requires strong communication, a solid laser/CNC background, and the ability to read blueprints, measure parts, and use standard measurement tools.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong Laser or CNC operating background.
• Competent at basic dimensional measuring.
• Knowledge of G and M codes and basic computer skills.
• Blueprint reading capability.
• Ability to operate a forklift.
• Ability to work in a team and multi-task.
• High School diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Perform setups and operations on Bystronic and Mitsubishi CO2 Lasers.
• Check material thickness for accuracy and load material into laser stocker.
• De-nest and remove laser oxide from parts.
• Perform assigned work to time standards and quality expectations.
• May train others on set-up and operation of Laser.
• Identify and solve machine alignment and cut condition problems.
• Troubleshoot minor program errors independently.
• Cross Train across multiple laser platforms and cells.
• Report and document material, production and quality control issues.
• Maintain performance log books and participate in preventative maintenance.
