Job summary

TensaCo is advancing AI acceleration with PHASER, an optical approach that speeds up compute. We seek a scientist/engineer to own the gain stage, selecting and integrating gain media, and designing the thermal and electrical environment for stability across millions of round trips.

Bring hands-on experience with semiconductor optical amplifiers or gain media, plus laser safety and a degree in physics, optics, or electrical engineering.

Qualifications

• Experience with semiconductor optical amplifiers, fiber or solid-state gain media.
• Laser safety practices and laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

• Select, integrate and characterize gain media and pump sources.
• Measure gain saturation and noise, and feed them back into the simulator.
• Design the thermal and electrical environment for stable operation.
