Job summary

Millerbernd Manufacturing Company is hiring a Large Press Operator 1 for 1st shift in Winsted, MN. You will operate a large press brake to form shafts from sheet metal and plates, inspect material before processing, and ensure parts match print specifications on a fast-paced production line.

The role requires reading blueprints, basic shop math, and safe operation of forklifts and hoists. You will work with a team to meet daily production goals and maintain quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and print specifications.
• Ability to perform basic shop math and use measuring devices.

Responsibilities

• Operate a press brake to bend and form sheet metal and metal plates.
• Perform quality inspection of material before starting the process.
• Load and feed material into the press and verify parts against prints.
• Input basic machine settings and assist with setup and changeovers.
• Maintain clean work area and document outputs per schedule.

The Opportunity:The Large Press Operator 1 is responsible for using a large press brake to bend, shape, cut and manipulate sheet metal and metal plates. This is for the new AccurPress on 1st shift.

Location: Winsted, MN
Salary Range:$23.06 - $27.03/hour (non-exempt)
(In compliance with Minnesota Pay Transparency Law, this range reflects the anticipated compensation for this role. Actual pay may vary based on experience, education, and other factors.)
Incentive bonus opportunity: Freight Train Profit Sharing - Average of +$3.50/hour based on meeting goals
Shift Schedule: 1st shift Monday – Thursday 5am – 3pm
Shift Differential: 1st shift - N/A

As a Large Press Operator1 , you will:

• Operates a press brake to manufacture shafts from sheet metal or metal plates
• Performs quality inspection of material before commencing process
• Loads and feeds material into the press
• Reads and verifies parts are consistent with print specifications
• Performs in-process inspection/quality checks
• Assists in machine set‑ups and changeovers
• Inputs basic machine settings and makes minor machine adjustments
• Accurately labels all parts for routing to next operation
• Performs job wanding
• Escalates equipment and quality issues
• Performs forming process for both round and sided shafts
• Monitors the production board scheduling direction to perform tasks in the designated sequence
• Maintains area cleanliness
• Notify supervisor or lead machine operator of defective materials and machine malfunctions

Role Qualifications as a Large Press Operator1:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Skill of effective and appropriate verbal and written communication skills in English
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Ability to perform basic shop math functions
• Ability to use forklift, hoist, crane and other handling equipment
• Ability to operate various power and hand tools
• Ability to use various measuring devices; tape measures, squares, and calipers
• Ability to work under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or methods
• Ability to set up and safely operate equipment
• Ability to work with others as part of a high‑performance team
• Ability to adapt to changing work priorities
