Job summary

Piworld is seeking a Feeder for 2nd shift at our Park Ridge, IL facility. The role focuses on preparing and loading stock, ensuring material quality, and maintaining press readiness throughout the shift.

You will work closely with Press Operators, monitor ink and coating supplies, and document production data in Hagen system, while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a sheet-fed printing facility.
• Experience with Komori or Heidelberg offset presses preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of various paper stocks and the ability to identify potential issues with printed sheets.
• Ability to consistently produce smooth, even loads.
• Working knowledge of pressroom operations, workflow, equipment, materials, and finished products.

Responsibilities

• Review job tickets and discuss job specifications with the Press Operator.
• Verify the accuracy and quality of raw materials before production.
• Prepare and load stock for press production.
• Monitor all materials used during the press run, including ink, water, coatings, and other supplies.
• Identify and immediately communicate quality issues or potential problems to the Press Operator.
• Ensure the quality of all stock being fed into the press.
• Restock and prepare materials for the next shift.
• Communicate complete and accurate information regarding scheduled/in-progress jobs to the incoming shift.
• Assist the Press Operator with washing and cleaning the press.
• Enter complete, accurate, and timely production information into the Hagen system.
• Carefully review Hagen sheets, make necessary corrections, and submit documentation.
• Follow all established procedures and complete required production and quality documentation.
• Perform and document scheduled maintenance.
• Help ensure the press is properly maintained, clean, and organized.
• Clean empty ink cans and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the chemical room.
• Complete a project information sheet for each job.
