Job summary

Cool Air Creations Inc. is seeking an experienced Large Format / Digital Department Manager in Rhode Island. This hands-on leadership role demands strong graphic design and production oversight, guiding a team from artwork through installation to deliver high-quality large-format projects.

You will manage daily operations, coordinate with installers, and drive efficiency while maintaining top standards of quality and customer service. Prior leadership and production expertise are essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the Large Format / Digital Department.
• Plan and prioritize workflow to ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Coordinate closely with our graphic installers to keep production ahead of installation schedules.
• Review and prepare artwork for large-format printing, vehicle wraps, signage, banners, wall graphics, decals, and other applications.
• Troubleshoot artwork and production issues and ensure files are production-ready.
• Monitor print, finishing, laminating, cutting, and other production processes.
• Maintain high quality standards while minimizing errors, reprints, waste, and delays.
• Manage, coach, train, and develop department employees.
• Ensure employees are working to their capabilities and that work is delegated effectively.
• Conduct performance reviews and address issues as needed.
• Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, Design, Production, and Installation for smooth project flow.
• Communicate with customers professionally regarding large-format projects.
• Travel to customer sites for site reconnaissance and measurements when needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve department efficiency, workflow, quality, and profitability.
• Help develop department procedures and production standards.

Cool Air Creations is looking for an experienced Large Format / Digital Department Manager to lead our growing Large Format and Digital Department.

We are looking for someone who is both a skilled graphic artist and an experienced manager with a strong background in large-format production, vehicle graphics/wraps, and the production process from artwork through installation.

This is a hands‑on leadership position for someone who understands the work, knows how to keep production moving, and can get the best out of a team.

What You’ll Do

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the Large Format / Digital Department.
• Plan and prioritize workflow to ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Coordinate closely with our graphic installers to ensure production stays ahead of installation schedules.
• Review and prepare artwork for large-format printing, vehicle wraps, signage, banners, wall graphics, decals, and other applications.
• Troubleshoot artwork and production issues and ensure files are production-ready.
• Monitor print, finishing, laminating, cutting, and other production processes.
• Maintain high standards for quality while minimizing errors, reprints, waste, and delays.
• Manage, coach, train, and develop department employees.
• Ensure employees are working to their capabilities and that work is delegated effectively.
• Conduct employee performance reviews and address performance or training issues as needed.
• Work closely with Sales, Customer Service, Design, Production, and Installation to keep projects moving smoothly.
• Communicate directly with customers in a professional and knowledgeable manner regarding their large-format projects.
• Travel to customer locations for site reconnaissance, measurements, photographs, and project evaluation when needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve department efficiency, workflow, quality, and profitability.
• Help develop and maintain department procedures and production standards.

What We’re Looking For

Required

• Minimum 3 years of management or supervisory experience.
• Strong experience in large-format digital printing and graphics production.
• Professional graphic design and prepress experience.

Strongly Preferred

• Experience with large format production and graphics.
• Experience operating or managing large-format printers, plotters, laminators, and cutters.
• Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Experience with RIP software and large-format production workflows.
• Experience conducting job-site measurements or site surveys.
• Experience working directly with commercial customers.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is someone who can look at the entire department—not just their own workstation—and understand what needs to happen next.

You should be comfortable moving between graphic design, production, customer communication, scheduling, troubleshooting, and employee management.

You will be expected to lead by example, communicate respectfully, solve problems, and take ownership of the department’s overall performance.
