Job summary

The University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in St. Paul invites applications for a contract (non-tenure) full-time faculty position in Large Animal Surgery.

The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor, depending on qualifications. The LAS team includes four faculty and residents; the role emphasizes clinical service, teaching veterinary students, and training residents with on-call duties.

Qualifications

• DVM/VMD or equivalent veterinary degree.
• Board-certified in large animal surgery by the ACVS, or board-eligible for the ACVS phase II exam by start date.
• Eligible for Minnesota state veterinary faculty licensure.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional clinical service in Large Animal Surgery (LAS) at the Veterinary Medical Center.
• Participate in evening/weekend/holiday on-call coverage.
• Provide clinical teaching and mentoring of veterinary students, interns and residents; participate in resident training activities.
• Provide didactic instruction of professional students to support the DVM curriculum.
• Develop relationships with clients and referring veterinarians for comprehensive care.
