Job summary

The Ohio State University Veterinary Medical Center is seeking a Veterinary Care Technician 3 – Large Animal (ICU) to work the third shift. You will support veterinarians in pain management and critical care for large animals, providing direct bedside care within a busy ICU team.

The position requires graduation from an accredited veterinary technician program, registration as a Veterinary Technician with the Ohio Veterinary Medical Licensing Board, and successful VTNE.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited veterinary technician program.
• Registered Veterinary Technician with the Ohio Veterinary Medical Licensing Board and VTNE.
• One year of relevant experience is preferred (two to four years preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct large animal care and assistance to clinicians and students.
• Assist with surgical procedures, preparing animals and equipment, and delivering care.
• Communicate status changes of patients with clinicians and maintain progress reports.
• Attend and conduct patient shift transition rounds for information transfer to incoming/outgoing technicians.
• Enter charges in ezyVet for services rendered per hospital fee schedules.
• Perform other duties to support ICU operations.
