Colorado State University’s Veterinary Teaching Hospital is seeking a Large Animal Flex Assistant to rotate through equine and livestock services, assisting clinicians and residents in surgery, ophthalmology, dentistry, radiology, and critical care.
The role supports day-to-day case management and provides stocking, cleaning, and continuity of patient care under the guidance of the shift's primary technician.
This Large Animal Flex Assistant position will rotate through and support the staff and patients of all equine and livestock services. This will include equine surgery, ophthalmology, dentistry, podiatry, equine field service, equine sports medicine, equine rehab, equine medicine and critical care, and radiology. This position requires basic knowledge of various medical procedures, biosecurity surveillance, and proper equipment usage. This position will assist in case management on a day-to-day basis by providing support services such as stocking, cleaning and maintaining after use, and providing continuity of patient care with the guidance of the primary technician on shift. This position requires working holidays, overnights, and weekends as we are a 24/7/365 hospital. This position will be required to work one to two on- call shifts per week in addition to the regularly scheduled hours.
