Job summary

ByteDance is seeking a Language Specialist Project Intern for a 2026 start in San Jose. Responsibilities

• Translate and proofread internal documents between English and Chinese (Mandarin) with accuracy and consistency.
• Provide simultaneous interpretation for internal meetings between English and Chinese (Mandarin).
• Support language- and cross-functional projects, including content organization and data labeling.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in a language-related field.
• Excellent communication, adaptability, and fast-learning skills; proactive, curious, and comfortable in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong interest in the tech and internet industry; technical translation experience.

Job Information

The hourly rate range for this position in the selected city is $25–$40.

Interns also receive 10 paid holidays per year and paid sick time (56 hours if hired in first half of year, 40 if hired in second half of year). Interns who are not working 100% remote may also be eligible for housing allowance.
