Job summary

ACV Auctions is seeking a Lane Coordinator to oversee the operations of the auction lanes, manage vehicle movement, and coordinate with auctioneers, Lane Assistants, and other team members to keep the lanes running smoothly.

The role focuses on lane assignments, vehicle placements, and maintaining clear communication across the auction floor, with emphasis on accuracy in vehicle information and adherence to procedures.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience in the car auction industry or related role.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Familiarity with auction procedures and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate assignment of vehicles to specific auction lanes, ensuring optimal vehicle flow and organization.
• Collaborate with auctioneers, Lane Assistants, and other staff members to ensure smooth operations within the auction lanes.
• Oversee the placement and movement of vehicles, coordinating with lane assistants to ensure efficient flow and visibility.
• Provide guidance and support to Lane Assistants, addressing questions and resolving conflicts as needed.
• Verify and record vehicle information, including VIN numbers, mileage, and condition reports, to maintain accurate records.
• Communicate effectively with auctioneers, buyers, sellers, and other staff to facilitate a seamless auction experience.
• Assist in the preparation and organization of auction paperwork, ensuring it is completed accurately and timely.
• Monitor and manage the physical condition of vehicles within the auction lanes, reporting any damage or issues.
• Ensure compliance with auction procedures, policies, and safety guidelines.
• Provide training and guidance to new Lane Assistants, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Experience & Education

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2-3 years’ experience in the car auction industry or related role.

Knowledge & Skills

• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Demonstrated organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with auctioneers, buyers, sellers, and other staff members.
• Attention to detail and ability to accurately verify and record vehicle information.
• Familiarity with auction procedures, terminology, and documentation.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Must be able to work in auction lot setting, including moving for most of the day.
• Able to lift, push, pull, or move items weighing up to 50 lbs. for various needs.
