Job summary

AWP Safety is hiring a Lane Closure Specialist to perform lane closures on state highways and roadways, redirecting traffic for workers or survey crews. You will work independently or as part of a traffic control crew, establishing safe work zones with proper equipment and procedures.

Responsibilities include coordinating with teammates, managing traffic flow with stop/slow paddles, and delivering protective services to clients.

Job Description

As a Lane Closure Specialist, you will perform lane closures on state highways and other roadways, redirecting traffic for workers or survey crews, and working independently or as part of a traffic control crew.

  • Establishing and maintaining safe work zones using the proper equipment
  • Ensuring the safety of assigned traffic control projects by setting up and taking down lane closures
  • Collaborating with team members to ensure the safety of all.
  • Managing traffic flow effectively with stop/slow paddles.
  • Delivering exceptional service and protection to our clients.

Qualifications

Employee must be able to successfully handle the physical demands of this position, which include the following:

  • Hours of operation may vary due to staffing needs- CURRENT HOURS: Starting between 5-6pm and working 10-14 hour overnight shifts
  • Frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
  • Frequent exposure to a variety of extreme conditions at job sites including high noise level in the work environment.
  • The position may work in outside conditions that include inclement weather, not limited to heat, cold, humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
  • Position lifts or carries objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions; employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects.
  • Position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi‑limb coordination.

  • Experienced Hires Signing Bonus - $1,000 at 30 days in role (no discipline or attendance issues)
  • Referral Bonus - $750 total; $250 at 90 days + $500 at 120 days months
