Job summary

AWP Safety is seeking a Lane Closure Specialist to perform lane closures on state highways and roadways, directing traffic for workers and survey crews.

You will operate independently or with a crew, establish safe work zones, and ensure project safety while coordinating with teammates to protect everyone on site. Training is provided, including ATSSA certification and defensive driving components.

Qualifications

• Hours of operation may vary due to staffing needs.
• Frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
• Frequent exposure to a variety of extreme conditions at job sites including high noise level in the work environment.
• The position may work in outside conditions that include inclement weather, not limited to heat, cold, humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
• Position lifts or carries objects up to 50 pounds.
• Stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions; employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects.
• Position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination.

• Ensuring the safety of assigned traffic control projects by setting up and taking down lane closures.
• Collaborating with team members to ensure the safety of all.
• Managing traffic flow effectively with stop/slow paddles.
