Job summary

The Oregon Health Authority (OHA) is seeking a Landscape Manual Arts Instructor at the Oregon State Hospital in Salem to support the Vocational Services Program. The role focuses on teaching landscaping skills to patients in the forensics program, addressing work readiness and employment preparation, and providing hands-on training on hospital grounds.

The position is full-time, onsite in Salem, with a 7:00-3:30 day shift and SEIU representation.

Qualifications

• Six months experience in each of at least three of the following.
• Minimum six months in landscape-related tasks.
• Ability to instruct and supervise in a landscape setting.

Responsibilities

• Mowing the grounds.
• Edging for clean borders.
• Raking leaves and debris removal.
• Pulling weeds and garden cleanup.
• Collection of debris using manual and power equipment.
• Planting and pruning plants.
• Cutting and trimming hedges.
• Pruning trees and shrubs.
